the Daytona Speedway 500 Club and that Eric Buell was the guest speaker.
Jack also stated that he had recently ridden in the Nevada 200 (with snow)

that he was asked to speak at their dinner. Joe Novak also took a trip to
the hospital to have a knee repaired.
Under old business, Jack
Penton spoke about the passing of his Aunt Mary Kovach (John’s sister) and
told of how Tom had stayed in their home for a time after their Mothers
passing on. Al Born also read a eulogy for Mary that was written by her six
children. Pres. Danik had suggested that we make a donation in honor/memory
of Mrs. Kovach so John Penton made a motion to donate $100.00 to the Amherst

motion and the motion carried. Under new business, Jack spoke about Vintage
Days stating that the spaces will be cheaper this year, but tickets will
need to be purchased separately. Jack stated that Mid-Ohio has been sold but
that most of the former managers will be kept and that he expects some

of tickets we need to purchase at the May meeting. We had Paul Clipper come

that was seconded by Jack Penton to pay the food bill of $470.85 for the

upcoming 6-Day Reunion Ride in Combs, Ark) about placing an ad in their
commemorative program. It was noted that we could have the back of the front
or rear cover, full page in glossy finish for $300.00 Jack Penton made a
motion to do so and John Borer seconded the motion and the motion carried.
We discussed the possibility of changing the date of “Penton Day at the AMA”
because of the possibility of inclement weather. Many ideas were brought up
and the subject was tabled until the next meeting. Alan had received a
notice about Pres. Danik attending the 2nd annual VMD meeting for the
various Vintage groups to discuss ideas pertaining to the VMD and Alan will
be forwarding this to Paul. James Borer showed the article in American
Motorcyclist where Kelly Owen stated that his all-time favorite motorcycle
was a Penton 6-Day. Also, Al Born showed an item in the April 2011 issue of
Dirt Rider about someone having decal kits to give modern KTMs a touch of
PENTON. Al Born also noted the death of Charlie Hawk of Athens, Oh., a
