2008 is the 40th Anniversary of the Penton Motorcycle
and the 10th Anniversary of the Penton Owners Group. The Penton family and
the Penton Owners Group would like to invite you, your family and friends to
take part in the celebration.
Join us the weekend of September 20-21, 2008 in Amherst, Ohio, the
birthplace of John Penton and the Penton Motorcycle.
This celebration will be a “once in a life time opportunity” to visit with
the Penton family, Penton Imports employees and Penton Motorcycle racers
past and present. Meet and talk with the people that contributed to the
success of the Penton Motorcycle, Hi-Point Accessories and even KTM today.
Share in the camaraderie with the Penton Owners Group members and
enthusiasts.
Following are just some of the fun and festivities planned for this very
special weekend.
Socializing, Benchracing and Much More!
- KTM North America has graciously offered use of their grounds for the
celebration. There is room for motor homes and camping, and a big tent for
social activities and fun. Friday beginning at 6:00pm.
Penton & Hi-Point Memorabilia Displays
- This will be a fantastic opportunity to show your memorabilia collections.
Bring your Penton motorcycles from barn fresh to perfect restorations. Share
all your fun memorabilia and photos relevant to the era. Saturday
morning thru Sunday afternoon.
KTM Facilities
Tour
- Guided tours of the KTM North America facilities. Saturday
morning.
KTM Street Bike Demo
- Ride the latest models of KTM street bikes. Saturday morning.
Penton Historical Sites Tour
- Join us on a motor coach tour of the Amherst and Lorain sites where John
Penton and the Penton families live, and the Penton motorcycle businesses
operated. The guides will include the people who lived and worked at these
sites. Saturday beginning at noon.
Banquet / Dinner
- Spend an evening dining and reminiscing with the heroes and legends of the
Penton days. Saturday beginning at 6:00pm.
The Penton Motorcycle Museum Dedication
- Be there for a ceremony dedicating the Penton Museum in the Amherst
Historic District. A Pancake Breakfast will be offered by the Amherst Fire
Department. All proceeds will go to local charities. Sunday morning.
The Penton Motorcycle Parade / Ride
- A one time opportunity to ride your Penton motorcycle from KTM to John
Penton’s home thru the streets of Amherst. Sunday beginning at noon.
John Penton’s Barbecue
- An outdoor gala with a hog roast and corn roast. The perfect way to finish
this epic weekend with our Penton & POG families. Sunday beginning
at 2:00pm on the KTM grounds.
